Amelia sat on the ground, her body tensed with fear. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest as the two men spoke in low tones. She recognized the voice of her mate's beta wolf, Oscar. She knew he was a sneaky bastard but had never imagined him to have planned such a thing. He really was a bastard. She prayed and begged the gods to ensure knew he would never do anything to hurt her. But what he said to the other man, the one he called Blare, made her worry.

"She's dead," Oscar had said. Amelia knew he was lying to her husband just to frustrate him. but she couldn't help but feel a chill run up her spine as she heard his words.

She watched as the two men continued to talk, their conversation becoming more and more heated. Blare was clearly angry, and Amelia knew that he was not someone to be crossed. She had seen him before, and the way he carried himself made her fear him even more.
