Wendy awoke with a start, her heart pounding and her skin drenched in sweat. The dream had been vivid and terrifying. She had seen Amelia, angry and betrayed, screaming at her to leave the island. Wendy had tried to explain that she had only wanted to rescue her friend, but Amelia would not listen.

No matter how hard Wendy had pleaded, Amelia had remained unconvinced. She had accused Wendy of stealing her partner and lying to everyone about her desire to be rescued. Wendy had wanted to explain that she had only done what was best for Amelia, but her protests had fallen on deaf ears.
