Chapter 23

Tanya's POV

I glanced at him, then focused on the road, feeling conflicted. A few minutes ago, he looked like he wanted nothing to do with me. To be honest, he looked like he wanted to avoid me at all costs. He couldn't even gaze at me or just look at me for more than a minute. I felt bad over his actions, but I chose not to show it or say anything.

But now, looking at him, he seemed very different and his voice sounded a little deeper. Not only was he not taking his eyes off of me, he couldn't stop smiling at me.

"So you are twenty?" He asked as my heart picked up.

That was the question I wanted to avoid for some reason. I was afraid of how he would react if he knew how old I was.

No, he was my mother's lover. Why was I even thinking like that?

"I'm turning eighteen soon," I answered nervously and then glanced at him to see his expression.

He was no longer smiling at me, and that made me feel sad. I quickly pulled to the side and parked the car.
