Tamara's POV

"Are you okay remaining behind?" Akira asked me seriously.

"Yes, I am," I answered softly and then lifted my suitcase from the ground and put it on the bed.

I was grateful to Kyle, who had brought me my suitcase, and weirded out by Larson, who was standing at the door not saying a word.

"Did you have to threaten them like that?" She asked.

"You mean my parents? Yes, I had to. Do you know how my parents are? They would have slept here if I hadn't done that. Asking them to leave and saying how I would never visit them or step foot here if they refused to go was like the cherry on top of a cake," I answered and then frowned when Larson chuckled.

"Your mother looked so upset," she said seriously.

I faced her and then smiled.

"My mother is not upset with me. She's upset with herself for not convincing me to let her stay. And believe me, she will be here tomorrow. She rarely gives up; that's something we sh....,"I cut my sentence short when I realized how wrong it would sound w
