Chapter 43

ALIA

I woke up for the umpteenth time and decided I could no longer go back to sleep. The clock on his bedside table read 6:15 and my heart clenched as I glanced at the empty space beside me. His side of the bed was kept neat which only meant that he didn´t sleep here, not that I would not know it if he came home, I barely had my sleep.

I wondered where he spent the night. Was he repulsed by my lack of wolf that he no longer wanted to see me?

My eyes started to water again, I´ve been crying and sobbing the whole night that my eyes were already burning. I don´t think I had more tears to shed, but then they kept coming.

I pulled the sheets over my head and coiled my body as I let more tears trail down my cheeks. The room was so quiet that the only thing I could hear was own sobbing and hiccups, I never felt so alone and lost.

Why was life unfair to me? I´ve never done anything wrong but love the only man I wanted, the only man
