The proposal

"Where am I going to meet you?" Ruth asked as the driver drove down a lonely, dark path.

"Somewhere special," he said over the phone.

Alex had sent her a message hours earlier, telling her to dress up and come to him.

He told her a car was waiting for her just in front of her apartment. He told her the driver would take her down to where he was.

When she dressed up and got out of her apartment, she saw the driver where Alex said he would be.

"What surprise do you have in store for me?" She asked him.

"You have a lot of time on your hands these days. You've been paying attention to me nonstop," she commented dryly hoping he noticed the sarcasm over the phone.
