GUILTY

Edmund was wide awake at once. He sat up on the bed, cleared his throat and said seriously, "I know you have a lot of questions right now, Emily. And I promise you that I'm going to answer every one of them. But first, we have to focus on what's most important."

"And what's that?"

"The fact that we love each other!" Edmund seemed overjoyed by the mere thought of it. "Can't you see it? I mean, all through my life, it's always been about making money, making my father proud and never making one mistake in my life. The one time when I decided to live outside of the rule books and just do what feels right for me, that's when I met and fell in love with you. If that isn't magical, then I don't know what is."

Emily listened intently, not because she was still seeking after answers but because she wanted to hear Edmund's heart speaking.

"I feel at home whenever I'm with you. What I feel is different, different so much that everything in my life feels way better than before. For someone who
