THE CONFESSION

Detective Camille Adams slumped into a seat and heaved a tired sigh. It'd been one hell of a week. First, they'd found out who Max Walker's assassin was but were yet to confirm what they'd been told when they were called upon to take up another case.

Apparently, the chief had been so pleased with the progress they'd made so far that he decided to give such an important case to them.

Detective Adams knew it was more of a case of credibility and skillfulness than anything else. That was why the chief had given them the case, even though they had their hands full already.

There was something off from the very onset of this particular case. For one, the man they'd arrested had no semblance of a criminal, and yet, from what they'd learned at the crime scene from the man himself and a few neighbors who had opened up to them, he knew something about the poor lady's death.

Unlike the other case that Detective Adams was handling which she'd wasted enough time on already, she had no intention
