Thirty-Eight.

(Lola’s POV)

I was out of cards to play, so the only other thing I could think of doing was getting rid of Lily Sharpe. I needed to have my life back, and if she was gone, then I would get to control the narrative of how everything happened.

I had the knife I used on Daniel in my possession. When Michael, that bastard, turned against me, he must have pulled the knife out of Daniel’s leg and dropped it on the floor.

I made sure to cover my face with a hoodie while I waited a few feet away from the company building.

I also had a line of sight to Chris’ car. He, unlike Sharpe, wasn't always looking around at his surroundings.

When Sharpe walked out of the building, I started to walk slowly towards her. I hid my small frame in the middle of the crowd of people who were leaving work for home.

My eyes kept shifting between Sharpe and Chris; unfortunately, Chris noticed me, and I had a small window of time, so I increased my speed and got to her just in time to stab
