“So you’re trying to tell me that our child is perfectly fine?” Chris asked in complete confusion.

“Yes, Mr. Ayettey…” The doctor assured him with a wide grin.

“But, I thought bleeding was a sign of a miscarriage,” Reggie interrupted, equally confused.

“It is, but that is not always the case, Mrs. Ayettey—”

“Oh, uh… we’re not married.” She corrected, a light blush coating her cheeks… one that had Chris grinning like an awestruck idiot.

“My apologies, then. Anyway, as I was saying… bleeding isn’t always a sign of a miscarriage. It can be sign of implantation of the embryo in the uterus, like yours was… there are other reasons for bleeding during pregnancy, but I wouldn’t want to bore you to death with all of that.” He finished.

“But I thought implantation and everything that had to do with that occurred in the first trimester?” Reggie asked after a moment’s thought.

“Yes, great question.”
