Chapter Fifty

I did not turn back for a couple of minutes, trying to gather myself. I breathed in and out, rehearsing what I was going to say to him, and then I heard the door opening.

I turned back immediately; Reagan was about to leave.

"Reagan, wait. I want to say something," I shouted.

He turned to me but did not remove his hand from the door or move an inch.

"Make it quick," he snapped, emotionless.

I swallowed. His face was making me nervous. I did not understand where my doting mate was because this was not him.

"Look at what I said earlier...... I did not mean it."

His face was still grim, not showing any emotions. I was not expecting him to agree, but his silence was rubbing me the wrong way.

"Are you not going to say anything? I snapped.

"Are you done?"

"Done with what? I asked him, confused by the question.

"Done with what you want to say; I am very busy," he replied.

I felt like slapping him for waving my apology off like that, but I decided against it.
