The doctor smiled at both of them, and brought out a white piece of A4 sized paper.

“I should be doing this in my office, but I can see it’s urgent and you couples want to know the details so quickly,” he said, handing over the paper to Amelia first.

She collected it and quickly glanced through it, going straight to the place where it confirms that Derek was the owner of the child but her countenance fell when she saw what was written there.

Derek’s heartbeat skyrocketed when he saw Amelia’s expression, it shouldn’t be what he was thinking, he prayed.

“I’m so sorry, Mr. Derek, but the child in Amelia’s womb isn’t yours, I do not know who the owner is, but you’re not the father,” the doctor made the announcement to Derek, instead of him having his own turn to look at the results.

Derek could literally feel the shattering of his heart, it was so real and the pain was aggravating; he was too expectant and too confident that the child was his that the reality hit him as hard as a roc
