My head snapped up, sure Vex was a bit far. I took off running, not fast, I would give him the win. My smile grew, running through until I saw his lazy ass at the border. He had reached it first, shifted back and had pulled back his clothes.“ Its not fun when you let me win.” He said with me laughing out loud.“ What do you want from me Vex.” I cried out, throwing my hands in the air dramatically as we walked into no man’s land. It was just a small piece between the two packs.Just a few miles of walking we saw Sunfire. He was on border patrol. We greeted him and went further in the pack. As always, Stern greeted us with the two other pack leaders. He never missed an opportunity to have me do some work for him, it had me giggle. I went with him to the office, doing a bit of file work, but it was not a lot before he went with us to the alpha’s house which seemed dark and cold.Any little happiness I had felt just evaporated there and then. The house seemed to suck it out of me. The g
We reached the pack way past dinner but luckily for Vex, the ladies were still in the kitchen washing dishes thus they did not mind fixing him something or he would have slept on water. Just thinking about it happening nearly had me laugh. I shook my head, waving at the ladies as they waved at me. I watched them all walk out of the castle, leaving it lonely and cold. My feet carried me to the flying machine which took me upstairs. I stripped naked, soaking myself in the tub that the king and I had held each other in. I would never forget the day, the memory being one of my greatest treasures. I relaxed until the water turned cold so I slipped out. I cleaned the bathroom then oiled my skin in the closet. I pulled on long knee high socks, some sweat shorts and a sweater. The king said I was not ready so I had to be the next time he came. I knew my battle was internal so I did not know what I had to do to grow up mentally, to grow enough for the war that was heavy on us. I sat on the fl
It was an hour later when the pack arrived, Vex first then other warriors. I had healed the other six men with them unconscious but they would be okay. My head kept shaking, thinking over the last memories I had of Mr Tendril. I thought of what would be said to Rosemary, just like that, she had no one.The ten warriors of the pack carried the unconscious men to the pack hospital then came back to all carry Mr Tendril who was so cold there was no way he would come back to us. I had hope, hoping what had happened to Brum would happen to him but he stayed just like that. The silence was taken over by cries, everyone in grief because their hope had been shuttered. It was painful to lose a pack member especially with everything he had went through, especially with the beautiful daughter he left behind. The ladies just thought of their own relatives. Seeing how critical it was getting, everyone lost the little hope they had, just praying their mates or sons were alive. I swallowed, better m
We fought until the sun rose, blood coating every part of me. I looked left then right and there were no rogues in sight. My chest was pushing up and down, heaving with the rain having been pouring for hours. Blood ran through the ground, running down. I walked from body to body, staring down at those that I had paralyzed in nothing but pain. They screamed and cried, begging for mercy but why. I stared into all their faces, thinking I would find awful men with rotten teeth but they looked just like normal men; men that had children, men that had mates. There were boys, young beautiful boys, females too that were so beautiful you would be fooled. I could not take it, could not bare seeing how such people could be so vile. I took a breath, hours of suffering enough and when that breath was released the air fell silent. It was silence that was so deafening. After the hours of screaming and begging the silence was like a curse, a curse hanging over my head and I would take it.I felt feat
I wiped away my hands with a cloth a girl had been holding out to me. I smiled at her, my head down, wiping the blood with the screams having gone down in the hospital. I did not know what time it was but it was late. The alpha had gone away to help in the pack along with the luna while I stayed back. The three pack doctors were hoovering around me since all their patients were asleep and recovering. I could see their pale faces, they wanted to ask but afraid thus just clustering and watching me work.My thoughts kept going back to these vile rogues. We already had too much on our plate and they were not helping. What did they even want? It just pissed me off. I held out the towel with the girl taking it, bowing and quickly rushing away.“ Thank you.” I said before she was out of sight. She paused, turning to me to bow over and over again warming my heart.“ Please, take me to your alpha.” I said to the eldest doctor who looked to have been in the universe for centuries upon centuries
“ Hi.” I greeted, worried. He was pale. My hand lay on his cheek and he was hot. “ Are you okay, maybe you should go rest while I sit for this meeting.” I politely said, my voice low but they could all hear. His eyes snapped from the distance he was staring at then stared at me. I held his stare seeing him lost. What was happening to him? I was confused. My head turned. “ Can we have a room, I think my man is over worked, we also had an incident of ours before hearing about the attack here.” I said, also recalling how he had been sleeping on the cold floor guarding the castle and me. “ Of course. Alex, take the warrior here to a room where he can refresh and rest.” Alpha Moonseekers said, his second son standing up and rushing. “ Go rest, I will come by after.” I said to Vex, him nodding his head, turning and pushing off the wall. They walked out of the room, still staring at them until the door closed. My head shook, hoping he got better. It had been a couple of rough days and ni
I went to check on Vex, finding him sitting on the bed, still not refreshed. I had never seen him like that? I tried to wreck my mind on what might have happened but nothing came to me. Maybe he had just seen too much. I helped him to the bathroom and literally commanded him to take a long shower. I went to ask for some clothes. Ray and Sonia were kind enough to lend us some. When I got back, Vex was done. I gave him his clothes then took a shower myself. He slipped in bed and I walked out, leaving him to sleep. It was amazing how fast he fell in it, so cute really, cuddled by those thick furs along with the sweater Ray had lent to him. The kitchen was my first stop after, asking them to take something up for him after a few hours then I went to meet Alpha Moonseekers. The alpha, me and his third son were the only ones going. We ran from pack to pack and it did not take much convincing because they had heard about what happened to the two packs and were shaking in their boots. We ha
My thoughts went back to the pack, wondering how the pack was.We dashed through forests, passing through streams, chasing away animals with how fast we were moving. I could already smell the air change, already just feeling like home and I had not realized how much I had missed the pack.“ Let’s start at the Rivers pack, we need to get the warriors.” I shot through, taking a turn but Vex did not follow, he proceeded on to our pack. I was left just standing there, gaping and watching him break through our pack boundary and into the forest.Did he just leave me?What was up with him?I shook my head, continuing with my way to the Rivers pack. I was a big girl, I could handle myself.I just wanted to get it all done so that when I get into my refreshing stage I could have much time. The Rivers pack was quiet as always, having to swallow my happiness getting there. I greeted border patrol, them accompanying me until we broke through into the inner circle of the pack.In my head I was cou
