16. STRIPPED OF DUTY
“Marking you was the worst mistake I have ever made in my life.” His voice was filled with nothing but venom, thick and lashing through my skin with my black tears falling on his skin. I watched him stare down at it to snicker, staring back into my eyes.
“I did not do it. I did not do anything.” I plead with him, begging with my eyes, trying to find some compassion in him, digging deep but there was nothing with all of me breaking before him. Brum led the way. He stepped up, walking behind the king’s chair to the luna’s chair which he pulled back for me. My cheeks were burning by then, giving him a respectful nod to walk around the chair and lower myself on it.
