17. ON MY KNEES

“Where are we going?” I asked with my voice low, looking up at the beta. He was so tall and so muscular; he could just crush me with his bare hand.

“Breakfast.” He simply said back as I stood where I was.

The doors of the flying machine opened and I stood there, not moving. He walked out and took a couple of steps to stop and turn to me. I shook my head. I was not going there. That was where my problems began in this castle. What if they all stood up and left again? I was not doing it; I was not doing it.

My hand was already pressing on all the buttons in the flying machine, the doors closing but the beta was fast, sticking his hand in with the doors re-opening. He strode in, no humor on his face as he grabbed my arm and pulled me out.

“No please, I am not allowed there.” I shot out with the beta snickering.

Well, the beta knows she was brought here by force, she never vied for the King's attention. He knows she can fight, survive, and ... heal. I think he felt her heal him when he was running with her on his back.
