Arya’s father was suffering from Carcinoid Syndrome, and since the cancer was already widespread when they found out, the doctor recommended a treatment to shrink the tumors, and that was what kept Mr. Wayne going a few months after he lost his wife.

The bills and responsibilities were piling up, and he was stressed, so he passed out while at work and had to be rushed to the hospital again for the third time that month.
