CHAPTER 48: THE HOLY 12

1st November 1305

This was supposed to be a new year's gift to her husband. For the past nine months, she had been carrying a baby in her womb and she prayed that this child would be a boy. She didn't want to disappoint her husband because her first child was a girl. Gwendolyn and some of her maids were trudging toward the infirmary which was built behind the O'Connor mansion. Two women were beside her, holding onto her feeble hands and rubbing her back as she wailed in pain. She had been shrieking and muttering inaudibly since she was in labor, one of the women rushed toward the entrance opening the door and helping the other lady to take Gwendolyn and lie her on the bed. A tall muscular man wearing a black tunic and black trousers strode toward the infirmary which was the cottage at the O'Connor mansion. He stopped by the door and waited patiently to receive the good news that his wife had put to bed and she was alive. He didn't care about the sex, but he hoped it would be a boy. Gro
