AUTHOR’S POV "Could you please bring some order to the court?" Lord Wallace, a member of the Werewolf Council and the second in command after Joshua, smacked his staff three times on the ground, and he also infused each strike with a little bit of energy so that it would better alert them to the fact that he was getting bored of listening to them argue with one another. After they had finished their conversation, Mr. Wallace turned his head to have a look at Joshua, who was being quiet and had his attention fixed on Harriet. Joshua was aware that he was being watched, and when he turned around, the two of them made eye contact. After the fight with Vivian, Harriet called for a meeting in the council. Not only was he angry that a ‘human’ woman had dared to injure his daughter, he was also angry that his house had been embarrassed. "This gathering was convened on behalf of Lord Harriet, whose daughter was injured by the woman who claimed to be Alpha Joshua's mate." When Mr. Wallace s
AUTHOR'S POV "Did you hear? The human woman Alpha Joshua brought to the mansion last night had already bewitched him before he came back and that is why she holds so much power over him." While another of the servants was working on the laundry, one of them said, while vigorously wagging his tail. The woman who was standing next to him gave a rapid nod of her head. She had also heard about this, and she commented, "But you should not call her a human, she displayed her powers last night! Didn't you notice how she destroyed practically half of the mansion with her powers?" The woman yelled out in surprise. "You have it exactly right; that woman is not even a human. I was able to detect a faint whiff of kinship emanating from her, despite the fact that it was so faint. Now, don't stare at me like that; you know that I have the most acute sense of smell of all of us." Another woman, this time one who worked in the kitchen, chipped in some words as she sliced fresh red meat. She was on
"Ah…" Aileen exhaled a sigh of contentment as she eased herself into the warm water that Lila had brought over for her. It was such a relief to have someone who would do what you wanted without making a fuss about it. Within the water, there were a lot of rose petals and scented soaps, and the sound of the water moving around was soothing to Aileen's hearing. It was like music to her ears. Her muscles were strained from the roughly five long hours of training that she had received from that slave driver, but her body was still tingling excitedly from the experience. "That jerk is even more heartless than Joshua; I don't understand how he could treat me in such a manner." Aileen's expression changed from one of displeasure to one of glee as she recalled the grin that was plastered across her teacher for the day face as he helped her practice. She could sense that he not only took pleasure in instructing her, but that he also took some delight in the fact that she did not give up when t
JOSHUA'S POV After Aileen ran away from her room and into the dressing room, I sat on the bed and covered my face with my hands. I didn't know what came over me nor why I was acting like a wolf in heat. I knew that we have a connection, but I didn't think that it would be to this extent. The moment I saw her, I wanted to take her till she begged for mercy. I wanted to see her writhe under me and moan in pleasure, I wanted to see her… Fuck! The sound of the little moan that I heard when we kissed echoed in my mind and I could feel my d*ck rise up in response. I shook my head, I shouldn't scare her, it was still so early for this. Gradually, I was able to calm myself and although it was hard, my third leg was able to go down just a few seconds before she came out of the dressing room. She sat a few inches away from me and silence descended in the room. I could see that she wasn't comfortable with the silence but as I was about to speak, her soft voice sounded in my ears. “When d
“So you started working here when you were just twelve years old?” I asked Terry who nodded in response. After Joshua left earlier this morning, I came out to train but Terry was already there. After some hours, we decided to rest for a bit and Terry told me of how he came to work in the mansion. “Then it's been a very long time, but, why are you still stuck being a mere guard? From your skills, I can see that you're good enough to be promoted or something… except people here see more than what I see?” I leaned back as Terry shook his head gently. “I chose to stay this way. I had gotten a chance of promotion years before now but I have friends that I don't want to leave behind, silly right? Some people say that I'm stupid to forgo my chances because of ‘mere’ friends.” Terry glanced at me but I pursed my lips and glanced at the darkening sky. “I agree with them.” I started but as Terry wanted to speak, I cut him off and continued, “I know that I do not know enough of the conce
"You are still very injured, Miss. Please be very careful." As Vivian tossed vases, glass glasses, and anything else that could break at the walls, Vivian's reliable maid, Hailey, stood by the side. Her hair was disheveled, and she appeared to have suffered significant further wounds; blood even trailed directly after her. Vivian stared wide-eyed at the damaged walls and all of the shattered glasses that were strewn across the floor; but, no matter how hard she flung those objects, they were unable to soothe her rage. Despite the fact that she was injured, she barely registered any of the agony. Vivian took a few shaky, labored breaths, and then she fell to the ground, exhausted. She was exhausted from everything. She lowered her head, cupped her hands around her ears, and squeezed her eyes shut as hard as she could. She wanted to run away, she wanted to be free from her father, and she wanted to take the place that was rightfully hers, but she couldn't! The sudden presence of that ot
AUTHOR'S POV "Alpha Joshua! That woman was caught red handed! How could you possibly continue to make an argument in her favor?” Harriet yelled while pounding his fists on the table. Joshua let out a long sigh as he thought about the fact that this man had called for two council sessions to discuss Aileen in only the span of three days. Joshua put his hands together on his hurting forehead and was about to say something when the front door of the office opened. He inhaled deeply as the comforting scent of Aileen washed over him like a refreshing wind, and he couldn't help but crack a grin. She did come after all. Aileen's eyes met his as she smiled and nodded gently in greeting before turning to face the other members of the council. However, as soon as she did so, the kind expression that had been on her face transformed into a more solemn and serious one. Joshua had hardly ever seen this side of her before, most of the time she was either cold or emotionless but never angry. "Hu
AUTHOR'S POVAfter Joshua announced Vivian’s punishment, Harriet left the Council meeting in a daze as well as other council members. Some of them stayed back so that they could speak to Joshua and Aileen. Aileen answered each and every question that they had for her with a smile and they realized, well some of them realized that Aileen wasn't what they made her to be. They spoke to each other for a while before they all left. After they left, Joshua wrapped his arms around Aileen's shoulders and stared into her eyes. Icy blue and Silver clashed and Joshua used his other hand to caress her face, “Are you okay? Were you scared?” Aileen shook her head and ‘harrumphed’ “Am I that unreliable? I could even see your shock when I said that I found the woman that spread the rumors.” “Yes, I was shocked because I didn't expect that. How did you convince that maid to speak? And how did this rumor come about in the first place?” The both of them started walking out of the meeting room and t
