Chapter 41

Maya's pov.

I stood at the front door of my house, waiting for Micah to arrive.

The paper he'd slid to me during class today had said he'd be coming over to my place around 5pm to get me so I could go tutor him but it was already 5: 30 and I didn't want my father coming to meet us or my aunt.

I frowned when it began to drizzle and went back into the house to wait.

I plopped down on the couch and texted Micah, asking him where he was.

He didn't text back immediately so I assumed he was probably driving.

I decided to play a game on my phone while I waited for him to arrive.

As I played, I couldn't help but think about Daniel. He'd ignored me the whole day in school and had also ignored my text messages. I felt like a desperate ex that couldn't take the hint.

I had asked Lydia to help me talk to him and I had even seen them going home together but I still hadn't gotten a text from her.
