A Failed Attempt

Jane watched Benny leave and shuddered. Her thoughts were jumbled and she threw her hands up in the air weakly. She was going insane and she knew it.

She was startled by her own profession earlier but she was more startled when Benny played along.

"You're a crazy bitch!" She screamed at herself and laughed hard as she sobbed. "Lisa is missing," she said hysterically and brought up her phone. She dialed Lisa's number but the line was not reachable. She stopped after the first trial and threw her phone on the sofa.

She climbed up into her bed weakly and drew up the covers to her shoulders. "Jeff is going down tomorrow," she muttered incoherently and wrapped her arms around her pillow as she continued to weep.
