Getting Through

Lisa stirred awake. Her head ached badly and her body felt numb. She groaned faintly and opened her eyes slowly.

Her eyes fluttered as she took in the seemingly familiar settings.

"This isn't my hotel room? Where the hell am I?" She thought and sprang up from her sleep.

She hugged herself as the feeling of deja vu took over her. "Oh no! This isn't happening! Not again!" She fidgeted and threw the covers open to check herself.

She heaved a sigh of relief and rushed off the bed. That was when she scanned the room. She squinted as realization dawned on her. Pieces of the day's events flashed through her head hazily and she groaned.

"My bedroom? No way!" Lisa yelled in horror. "I can't face Alex now... I haven't caught the culprit... I have to get out of here," she whimpered and dived for the door.

The door swung open just as she placed her hand on the lock. She pulled back and Alex emerged. He was holding a cup of freshly prepared oat.

"It's my recipe for a hangover," he said casually.
