Jane

"Ah, look who it is." Jane says after a while of them talking. Sophie turns to see Mason coming into the lunchroom and she smiles before taking in his appearance, shirt disheveled and pants a little bit sagged. She furrowed her eyebrows wondering why he looked like that but didn't say anything about it just happy to see him, Jane however was analyzing the man in front of them.

"Hi Babe!" She says happily as he smiles at her coming over and giving her a kiss, Jane a little disgruntled at the appearance of this man.

Why were his pants opened and not on fully, why was he particularly out of breath and why's his hair so disheveled?

"Hi baby. So sorry I'm late, finishing up work for Mrs Green. You know how that goes." He says and Sophie nods her head at him before she smiles brightly "Babe, meet my new friend. Her names Jane. Jane, meet Mason." She pointed to Jane who smiled timidly, Mason eyes her as if analyzing her before he smiles holding out his hand for her. She catches this and scoffs internally. Yeah, you have no business trying to analyze me Mason, focus on your relationship. "Sorry, I don't do handshakes. However it is nice to meet you in person, Mason. Heard a lot about you." She says with a sheepish smile "What a small world." She adds.

Mason seems to have missed the disdain in her eyes as he wraps an arm around Sophie's shoulders smiling at her sitting with them both at the lunch table. Sophie begins to talk to them about her day as a time passer. Jane genuinely interested in what she had to say, while glaring in Mason's direction.

Lunch time ends and Sophie exits the cafeteria with Jane and Mason, Casper and his friends not that far behind as they all simultaneously share the same home room class.

"So, Sophie. You always lived out here in Beverly Hills?" Jane asks as they're walking to the class, Sophie looks at her as she's holding Mason's hand "Yeah, moved around a bit but I always found myself coming back here. Home is where the heart is, my heart happens to be two brown eyes and a beautiful smile." Sophie says looking up at the man she admires, Mason smiled sheepishly looking at her leaning in to kiss her forehead. Jane on the other hand very skeptical and she wasn't even sure why yet, but she had a bad feeling about Mason.

And she was going to make sure she kept an eye on him, she didn't want him to hurt Jane.

"Oh look.. it's the nerd who barely has friends." Girl one says giggling to her friends catching Sophie's attention. " I know right, I wonder how she even has a boyfriend, I mean look at her."  Jane looks over to the voices and of course; it's a bunch of giddy little blonde girls who think they're the shit, she looks at Sophie who visibly frowns looking down and she narrows her eyes. She wasn't going to stand there and allow this to happen.

"Well if it isn't little Miss 'I think I'm better than everyone just because my daddy and mommy get me everything I want to shut me up because they're too busy cheating on each other and don't want you to tell on either on them.' And her little slut group of friends, lovely to see you talking about someone when you're imperfect yourself Britney." Jane fires back and everyone in the hall watches in surprise as Britney huffed out a breath and she runs away, followed by her two friends who don't bother saying anything to Jane.

Sophie blinks surprised by what just happened and she looks up at Jane "Jane..  you defended me." "Yeah, I did. I hate when stuck up bitches think they're better than everyone." Jane says and Sophie looks up at her with slightly watery eyes, smiling softly "Thank you.. you didn't need to do that." "Nah, I did. Someone's gotta stand up to Britney or she'll continue treating this entire school like it's her throne and we're her peasants." Jane says and Sophie smiles brighter at her.

"Now let's go to class shall we?" She says leading the way and Sophie laughs looking at Mason who escorts them to class, Jane smiles taking her seat along with everyone else "Good afternoon boys and girls, welcome to Home Room! Relax, unwind." The teacher begins and Sophie sighs softly, today wasn't exactly a good day but she found herself friends with someone who actually is genuine and she's already proving herself.

"Today I decided we're gonna watch a movie, it's the first week back to school so we're not gonna stress over heavy work." The teacher says and kids in the room cheer, Sophie lost in her thoughts with a fond smile on her face.

What had Sophie done in her past life to be blessed with Jane?
