Chapter 6: The strongest

ALPHA KAEL

War brings me true happiness. I enjoy killing and the more enemies I defeat the more powerful and unbeatable I feel.

My own suffering has made me indifferent to the feelings of others.

They call me a demon but I don't give a damn.

I embrace this devilish nature, and no matter how many times they try to bring me down, it's useless.

In a wolf form, I swiftly rushed towards my enemies also rushing to meet my pace under the moonlight, but they are no match for the flames I unleashed, revealing their sheer numbers to me, but none of them can match my level of power.

Some believe it's a gift from the devil and thanks to the devil that they're talking about.

What matters now is, I'm strong. And yes, I crave for power, I want more. Even though I already possess the strongest one, I yearn to be even stronger. That's why I always confront any number of enemies in battle.

People call me demon, I fully embrace that role too. So what?

From afar, they are like swarming ants but I inflicted widespread damage as well. It appears that three packs have united with the aim of bringing me down. Mentally, I grinned, knowing they were mistaken in their perception of me.

"You're too self-assured in your own power to be the first one rushing to attack, Kael!" A woman's voice reached my ears as she revealed herself right in front of me.

In my wolf form, I growled at her, ceasing the flames and fixing my attention on her. "You don't always emerge victorious," she arrogantly remarked, as if my downfall were an absolute certainly.

Engaging conversation with her, a growl could be heard from those around us, but my words could reach her mind, "Show me. Maybe then, you'll earn the title of demon slayer and reap the praise of all my rival packs, haha," I mocked.

She sidestepped to the left, I mirrored her movement, circling each other cautiously. She's a witch, exuding an aura of power, but I don't care. She's just a witch, I'm a demon.

"You have no pack allies, Kael. They're just obey your demands out of fear, not respect or loyalty. Stop dreaming," she taunted with a smirk stretching across her face.

Resentment flared up in me but I ignored it, pretending to be unaffected, as I sent a chuckle in her mind. "That's my goal, to make them tremble like rats. They deserve it! They deserve to fear the man they once considered weak."

Fire exploded from my body striking the witch's companions before me. The bloodshed has started here in the western camp which is part of my pack. My warriors are also now clashes against theirs.

I was about to boast arrogantly about my warriors joining the fight, but suddenly a group of witches appeared encircling me. Well, a sense of excitement coursed through me as I say, "This is Interesting..."

"Indeed, Kael. Interesting...And we have a little surprise for you," said the witch with an unnerving smile and raised her hand modestly, intimidatingly, followed by the other witches who mirror the action.

I unleashed a burst of fire, causing the ground beneath me to explode towards them. They were hit, but remained still, continuing their incantations. They seemed to just endure the heat of the fire I created.

"You can't defeat me just like that!" I let out a loud growl while within their minds they could hear my mocking laugh.

I used heat manipulation to eliminate one of them. They're all seven who surrounded me, and with each one I struck down, there's another woman stepped into her place, resuming the incantation.

Surprised and growing increasingly frustration, realizing that I had greatly underestimated them, I killed two more and there were two again who took their place.

"Fine! Fine! Fine! I'll grant you the chance to prove your strength! Go, Keep praying! That's it! May Hecate guide you!" I mocked but still frustrated.

What are they up to? I need to know...it's like they tricked me.

Weakness seeped into my body, as if something were draining my power. "What the fúck is this..."

My wolf form dropped to my knees, unleashing a fierce blaze that caused further destruction. Of course, I'll still fight—them against me. The witches' chants grew louder, and the wolves' growls echoed all around.

"You can't take my power." I gritted my teeth.

Sustaining the fire within me, I killed the witches one by one but their companions were swiftly replaced, maintaining the formation they were made.

The blazing fire was reaching them. I tried to unleash more, but it's draining my strength. Really. "Damn it!"

"He's running out of power! Attack!" A woman's voice, not among the circle of witches, but also a witch. "End him before he regains his power!"

"Ah..." I laughed mockingly, even in my struggle, shaking my head with sarcasm, I attempt to rise from my kneeling position. Yeah, unfortunately, I'm in my human form now. "So this is how it is..." I say mockingly, "you can only stand against me if I'm powerless. Pathetic witches..."

"You're strong, but not smart," she mocked back smirking. "You underestimated us, so thanks to that. And this is where your history ends. Now? Farewell, Kael."

The witches' incantations grew louder, it sucking my strength even more. My breath became struggle which made me clutched my chest. "H-How dare you!" I groaned.

The witch let out a shrill cackle, as the wolves rushes towards me. She yell, "Smash all the wolves of the Cursedmoon pack! Kids, adults, Females or males wipe them out!"

Claws of various sizes tore into my body, inflicting wounds that cut through my skin and flesh. "Y-You can't kill me, you wish!"

I tried to shift but my body refused. "No. Kael, you're dying now! Soon, you'll be with your former slave mother! Don't you want that? You will be together, you who are both unappreciated creatures."

"Fúck you! Ahh!" I cried out in agony as a large wolf sank its teeth into my side. "You can't kill me now!" I managed to kick that wolf. How dare he? "I'm telling you. You're just wasting your strength, you silly." I let out laugh filled with madness and insults, purposely to mock her even I'm in pain.

"Really? Then look at yourself also your pack. It won't be long you'll die and your pack will turns to ashes!" The witch grinned.

Clenching my fist against the ground, I fought through the pain and gazed at my pack. No... I cannot be defeated, I cannot die like this. They cannot destroy my pack. My people... I will not let them die!

If moon goddess can't help them, then I will.

But what should I do? I'm so weak. . I never imagined it would come to this.Even with blood coming out from my mouth, I couldn't help but laugh at my own failure, shaking my head saying, "This is ridiculous." Then I yelled, "You can't defeat me like this! Com'on!"

Fortunately, I can still unleash the fire but it caused my nose, eyes and ears to bleed. Especially in my mouth. It felt like my last ounce of strength because as the fire erupted, the wolves and witches scattered, and I fell back to my knees on the ground.

"What the....kill him!" The witch scream angrily getting up from the ground as well as the wolves and rushed towards me. But they bounced back because a light suddenly focused on me. When I looked up, a majestic white wolf emerged from the moon.

Its paws positioned themselves on my left and right, as if protecting me, which caused my enemies to startle.
