Narek's POVSeated in front of Nyx, I watched her struggle with the truth, unable to believe it as her reality. I couldn’t blame her though. When Ms Pendleton, Nyx’s aunt, opened up about Nyx’s true nature as a witch, I was quite doubtful myself and I had my reservations. Nyx's POV The next morning, I woke up to the annoying cries of the stupid bird that perched on Narin's window. It was different from the bird that Narin caused to disappear the other day but made just as much noise as the other bird did. It's coos were so loud and unnerving, I wondered why it should be the first sound one had to hear straight out of bed, every morning. I turned to Narin who looked like she was going to explode anytime soon. Her pillow was pressed tightly at the sides of her head to shield her ears from the bird's cries and her teeth gritted against the other in both frustration and annoyance.
