11. The real bad guy

My mother screamed in agony, "What do you want with my daughter?!"

Jax ordered Kai to hand me over, but Kai only tightened his grip on me with his cold hands. Before I could process what was happening, Kai dashed out of the place so fast my eyes couldn't keep up.

In the dimly lit living room, my mother's absence finally registered. "You left her!" I snapped at Kai, who looked at me coldly.

"I'm sorry, but she's going to be a burden to us," he said with an emotionless voice.

I couldn't believe what he was saying. "Save my mom!" I screamed back.

"It's pointless," he replied, his voice void of any compassion. "Take me back instead. I didn't ask to be saved!"

The way he ignored me made me think I could just easily walk out of the house. "Step out of the door and you'll be locked up in your room," he warned.
