“I've been waiting, Ellie…” Troy said to her softly, making it as clear as day that they both had a lot going on.

There were a lot of things going wrong right before my eyes and somehow I had to keep still like I wasn't seeing any of it.

“Troy…” Ellie seemed quite embarrassed to be caught up in such a predicament. But she was taking all of the pressure like a champ, not even flinching one bit. “Meet Kai. Kai, this is Troy…”

“Kai…?” Troy seemed excited for no just cause as he said my name with a smile. “I know you, from the basketball team.”

“Yeah… I know you too from the football team,” I said, putting out my hand for a handshake. “One of the top quarterbacks in the country. Feels like I'm shaking golden hands right now.”
