Another chance

Aaron's POV

The next morning, I came down to meet Natalia having breakfast alone in the dining. She usually had it with Courtney, and with what happened, I was sure that Courtney would not be thrilled to eat with her.

She looked a little sad, but her face suddenly brightened and she raised her face to me when she felt my presence. It did something to my heart seeing her give me that beautiful smile of hers. I had not seen it in a while now.

"Good morning, Talia."

Her smile widened at the name. "Good morning. Did you sleep well?"

"Not as good as I would have wanted, but better than before."

I saw her frown, and I wondered why. It took me a little while to realize that she might actually be worried about my sleep. I had told her that sleeping was not something I enjoyed since my whole family was taken from me.

"Have you seen Courtney this morning?" I then asked her, taking her mind away from the topic of my sleep.
