Lucius's POV "Ahhh!" Sophie's wails filled my office as she continuously cried. "She was right behind me! How did she go missing!? Oooh..."We had all moved out of the club and proceeded to make my office the war room.Sophie was sitting on the floor, her theatricals getting on my nerves as she cried louder than someone who had lost a child.I knew it was just the alcohol making her do everything she was doing but I needed her to be sober and quickly."Sophie, I need you to take this," I offered her a pill and a glass of water. It was supposed to sober her up in seconds but she was refusing to take it, hence my frustration."No!!" She shrieked, turning her head away from me. "I am not going to take pizza when my friend is missing! No! I won't do that!"My patience was on the last straw but I had to push myself because this was Diane we were talking about. If there was any chance that we could get her from wherever she was, then this was our only shot."Sophie, this isn't pizza. It is
Diane's POVI woke up to a thumping pain on the side of my head. I rubbed my eyes and tried to make sense of where I was but everywhere was so dark, I could barely make out my own fingers.Where was I?I moved my fingers around, hoping to figure out the location I was in, but it was all in vain. I couldn't detect anything. I couldn't even feel anything. No walls were near me. No surface was close aside from the one I was laying on —The cold metallic ground.I could tell it was metal aside from the fact that my butt was freezing, my fingers resonated as I knocked on the surface. It surely didn't feel like my room in Lucius's place. Neither did it feel like my own house.Again, I wondered, where was I?The first thing that came to my mind was that I could be dreaming but the stinging cold beneath me reminded me that it couldn't have been a dream. Feelings were not so sharp in dreams. This was real. After deducing that, the next thing that came to mind was how I got to this dark place.
Lucius's POV "Maybe we can call them and arrange something with them?" Lucas said as I continued packing my bags."There has to be a mistake somewhere and we can fix it from here. You don't have to do as they say," he kept on rambling. But I knew it and even he did know deep down that there was no way out of this. If I didn't return to the pack castle, they were going to execute Diane's grandfather as the rogue king we have been after all of these years. And I couldn't let that happen."Lucius, you can speak to them. There has to—"I closed my bag and turned to him briskly, making his words hang in his throat. "You know that won't change their mind," I told him, my voice filled with pain that burned my veins."But what about Diane?" Lucas asked the very question that was burning my wolf. With every energy in me, I wanted to stay and keep searching for Diane myself. But I would only be doing more damage if I let my people kill her grandfather.I lifted my bag and placed it on the grou
Diane's POVMy heart was beating in my chest but I could no longer hear it as all of my senses became focused on the approaching predator in front of me.I continued taking steps back. Backing away from him till there was nowhere left to run. My back hit the metallic wall behind me and my heart dropped."Oops, looks like I have you cornered," the man whispered, his grin spreading and I couldn't help but notice how brownish his teeth were."Please... I didn't do anything wrong... Please just let me go..." I pleaded as my panic and fear started making me dizzy but I chose to remain strong.Maybe this man only had a very evil face and terrible teeth but he wasn't evil at all. Maybe he could have mercy on me.But the more I cried, the more his grin grew larger. He was enjoying the pain in my voice. He raised his fingers and grazed my cheek softly.I froze as his wet finger trailed against my skin."What a shame, a pretty girl like you got entangled into all of this... Don't worry, as soon
Lucius's POVI stood in the castle conference room. A large war room was different from the one we used for the emergency meeting the last time I got called from my honeymoon. This was the main room in the pack's castle. A place where a lot of wars and chaos had been planned and strategize to victory. But today, I was going to save Diane's father and hopefully calm the rest of the council long enough to return home to find my Diane. But first, I had to remind these people who were the leaders in the room. How could they call an urgent meeting; pull such a stunt on me and then pretend to be too tired to attend the meeting? Not on my watch. My eyes were narrowed to the entrance and I watched as one by one the council members stepped in and took their seats.None of them were able to look into my eyes. They could all feel the heat of my anger from miles away and none wanted to be the first to witness it.I waited till they had all come in and settled down before I began to address them.
Lucius's POV Silence loomed in the room and I felt my heart freeze in place as I looked at Owen. Something within me told me to go to him. Something pushed me to do his bidding.Play with him. He was worried about Diane, maybe as much as I was. I wanted to make him happy but I couldn't abandon Fred right now in this situation because of Owen.Everything had its importance. I left Lucas in charge and I was certain Diane was in good hands but her grandfather wouldn't be so lucky if I didn't take him away from these cruel people. With a heavy heart, I got on my knees to the boy's level and kissed the top of his head."I promise you, Owen, we are going to find mummy. We are going to help her no matter what. You understand?" I whispered to him but he shook his head and pointed to the door.I looked at the door and turned my eyes back to him. There was something he was trying to tell me."Okay, I get you. But first I have to finish this. Stay here." I carried him and placed him on the chai
Lucius's POV"I do not have time to play around Owen! Get back here right now!" I yelled but he stumped away and left me there.I closed my eyes in frustration and tried to calm myself."Children can be very strange beings to deal with..." I heard a strange voice behind me.I turned toward it and saw that it was a guard with a large ugly scar across his face. His face didn't look familiar and I couldn't remember him at all."My King," he said, making a similar dramatic bow just like Kasper. "I am Stone, at your service," he added. My wolf hated the aura coming off of him at once but I calmed it."What pack do you belong to?" I asked him."The Alpha Kasper, my King," he said, and mentally rolled my eyes.Of course, he would be from his pack. I should have known."Then I believe you should go to the conference room, your alpha must need your services more," I said to him and started walking down the rows of containers to find my son.As I moved, I realized that the strange guard was sti
Diane's POVI got up and started pacing around the dark and cold prison I had been locked in. Owen was going to bring Lucius. They were coming to save me. I just had to hold on for a while longer. My fingers were shaking as my anxiety took the better of me but I didn't stop I continued moving about. I believed the exercise would help calm my nerves.I didn't know how long I moved about but I stopped when I heard Owen's tiny little voice again."Mummy!" He yelled and I paused. All my senses were focused as I tried to listen in more closely but as it was typical of Owen he didn't say anything at all.I rushed over to the door and pressed my ear to it, trying to figure out if he had come with someone else."No! Mummy!" Owen repeated and I wondered what was riling him up.I raised my fingers and started knocking against the door as hard as I could, hoping that whoever was with Owen could hear me."Help!" I cried out, my voice completely gone from all the screaming and little hydration."P
