The Honeymoon Arrangement

Diane's POV

The compromise passed and I couldn't be happier. A victorious smile remained on my face throughout the party.

When we returned to the hotel, I slept peacefully because Lucius had somehow disappeared and my smile went along with it the moment I woke up in the middle of the night and found an empty bed.

I got off the bed and wrapped a robe around my body. I went out to the balcony in search of him, but he wasn't there.

I knocked on the bathroom door, waiting for him to respond —he had taken a lot of finger food. It was normal for him to develop a runny stomach.

"Lucius?" I called, but no one responded.

My heart skipped a beat and panic started seeping in. What was going on? Where did he go?

I tested the door knob and it opened. With a deep sigh, I pushed it wider and stepped in.

Everywhere was silent. There was no sound at all.

If he was using the toilet, I should have been hearing the trickling of water or shower or anything at all —but there was nothing.

"Lucius?" I cal
