Kira's POV

I remained in my room after helping the kitchen, for fear that I would run into Asher again. There wasn't much to do except look through some books I had found in the trash by the kitchen. It was a cooking manual, however it seemed very old because the methods used in the book ran back to when technology hadn't been very developed. It was a good book, just old, and most people didn't want old things.

My door was pushed by suddenly and so forcefully that it caused me to flinch back. Lucille walked in majestically like she owned the space, her eyes were quick to find mine and she locked me in a glare. I felt dread overwhelm me, the last time she had showed up things hadn't ended very well, I had made the biggest mistake of my life that day, and it still haunted me till now because I had thoughts about him always.
