After taking our time to enjoy the feel of our arms in the comfort of silence, I took her hand in mine and walking side by side, we got close to the sea and sat down on the sand. She rested her body on me but kept her eyes on the water.

“Mother said water heals the heart and the mind,” she said through a soft sigh, “I miss her and I miss home too.” she added.

“It will be over soon,” I assured her, as those were the only words I could say at such a time. Her sister was after us and so is her dad but specifically, after my head.

“Don't you think I'm worthy to be marked by you?” She asked and inwardly, I wished that this conversation could be avoided. She sat up and turned so that she was facing me completely,

“I have waited for so long, can't you see?” She asked, “the more you extend this, the closer you get to losing me.”

“Don’t. You. Ever. say. Those. Words. Again!” I said each word one after the other with so much anger at the mere thought of it happening, “I am never going
