"What was it that you were discussing with Williams?" Edward asked as he closed the door after Mr Brown had walked in.

"We were just discussing about Her Grace's health, Your Grace," Mr Brown lied. He knew there was no way he could reveal to His Grace all that Williams had told him. If he did, then he would not be able to find out what he really had planned and it would destroy the relationship that his master had with his brother, something that he did not want to happen.

"Are you sure?" Edward asked, a frown on his face. From the way he sounded, Mr Brown knew that he did not buy his lie. "I might not have heard all that you two spoke about but from the way you spoke and the way that he reacted to each word that you said, I knew that something was up."

"I assure you, Your Grace, nothing is up," Mr Brown lied. "We were just discussing about Her Grace, talking about her health." Edward rested his hands on the railings of the staircase and stared at his butler.
