Third POV

Harper stared at the target in the distance, her fingers gripping the handle of the gun. She felt a little sweat trickle down her palms, making her grip a little unsteady.

She knew Wyatt was right behind her, watching her every move with golden eyes as sharp as a hawk's. He was her mate, her soul mate, but she knew he would not let up on his stern teaching at this range.

"Don't be nervous." His deep voice rang in her ear with a hint of encouragement and comfort, "Trust your intuition."

Harper took a deep breath, calmed herself, and squeezed the trigger.

Bang! The bullet pierced the center of the target, leaving a perfectly round hole.

"9.9 points!" Harper jumped up excitedly.

She turned and sprinted toward Wyatt, wrapping her arms around his neck. "I did it! I did it!" She screamed into his ear, forgetting all the fear and stress of the moment.

"You've done well." Wyatt patted her lightly on the back, a smile of approval at the corner of his mouth.

"Take a break," he set her
