CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

Nora’s POV

Back from the dinner part with Michael, I found it hard to leave my room. I couldn’t believe I was going to trust only Michael for Mia’s phone call to shatter everything.

"Mummy, are you okay?” Dylan asked for the fifth time since today.

"Yes, baby," he said, hugging me, and I served him breakfast. Michael was not yet home. I don’t care. As I was leaving the house for the club, Zen noted that I left the house more often these days. But I knew; he knew it had something to do with Michael.

Pulsating speakers, reverberating beats, and the moving disco ball traveling on all corners of the crowded dance floor were just the beginning of my night.

The DJ was in high spirits. His ears were partly closed with one hand raised while the other moved with grace and style on the turntable. He chose the right songs. He kept the festive mood alive, drawing more people to file outside, waiting to be cleared in by the bouncers.
