CHAPTER TWENTY -SEVEN

Jake’s POV

Pacing my living room that evening, I thought of a thousand and one things to do to get Nora back.

“That punk would not make it any easier for me,” I mutter. Killing Michael will raise a lot of dust, which I am in no way capable of calming down. Then kidnapping Nora would not be a good idea either. Michael was ready to get the whole werewolf kingdom in flames, looking for her. To make matters worse, he had the absolute power to make me guilty. He was the Alpha King now. He could do as he pleased. Michael didn’t care about werewolf elders. The story of how he had Luna in a second and, in the next, banished her from the pack was still on the lips of the werewolves.

Then there was a movement at the door.

“Who’s there?” I turn to see.

It was my beta.

“What?”

“Your highness, the pack... I mean, I am treating you to a game of soccer. You have been in your room all week,” he says while stammering.

He has a point. Thinking of how to get Nora was turning me into a recluse.
