Chapter Eight - Damien
She had escaped from his office instantly and he watched her run back to the training grounds – away from him.
He thought about the way her mouth popped open and her eyes bulged at his words. A satisfying smile etched across his face. Her flushed cheeks at the mention of mating, made her even more attractive. Damien enjoyed how fierce and strong his mate was, however there were moments when they spoke when she could do nothing but look at him and it was in those moments, he understood the mate bond.
She may loath him and his very existence but she couldn’t deny she wanted him in those moments. It was evident in her breathing, heart beat and even her eyes – shifting to black when her wolf was taking over.
Even though Damien witnessed all this, he had never stopped questioning why she was fighting their bond.
He understood his reputation would perhaps scare her, however that seemed unlikely as Andrea never once showed a hint of fear in his

The sweet smell of sugar and baking hit Andreas heightened senses causing her to propel herself from the large lush bed she had been happily snuggled inside. An enormous looking tray of food positioned on the white marble flooring in front of the large oak door. The drive took over five hours and by the end Andrea was sore from sitting in the same position for so long. The car they had sent was comfortable and expensive. The leather hugged her in a soothing way. Her two drivers never spoke to her until they were an hour away from their location.“Here, it’s your schedule”, the man in the passenger seat shoved a large, thick, white envelope into her lap. She spilled the contents onto the seat beside her and was happy to find a set of keys to her apartment, her school class schedule with a corresponding map of how to get there. She would be teaching three days a week – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday - in a mixture of classes. The wound wasn’t healing, it looked harsh and red against her shoulder. The pack house had emptied of the morning training session, which Damien was thankful for. He had escaped to his office instantly, in the hope to get some work done. Andrea drove the car into town, following closely behind the Beta. He was her source of navigation and she was surprised to find he took a turn into an underground parking area. The spaces all had numbers and letters, and she wondered if this was the apartment building. It shocked her how fancy and expensive the apartment they were giving her was. Charles motioned for her to park in the space labelled, 20B.He lifted her bags and she pulled along her suitcases to the elevator. Once inside he pressed the button for floor 20, scanning a key card and she noticed how the floors only went to 20.The apartment was stunning. It was clear she had been over gifted. The walls were lined with glass, overlooking the entire town. The Lounge and kitchen posed an open planed living space, all decorated in rich dark colours. The countertops and cabinets were all black and the lounge area was decorated in a rich navy colour sporting gold light fixtures and frames to match the gold hand
