Ares' pov

I paced restlessly around the room while I occasionally turned my wrist to check the time on my watch.

“Alpha,” the chief security guard greeted as he entered the room.

I stopped pacing and turned to him.

“Get me the cctv footage for yesterday,” I instructed him and he bowed and left.

That girl's death was taking a toll on my woman and I wanted to get to the root of the matter.

Did I just call her my woman?

A smile crept up on my face and I knew I was whipped.

It had been well over an hour since the head guard mind-linked me and my anxiety grew with each passing second.

I had automatically suspended my work since I couldn't focus no matter how much I tried to.

Pellar wasn't any better as we both waited anxiously for the men to come.

Just before I snapped and ran into the woods to search for them myself, the heavy sound of approaching footsteps reached my ears and I calmed my racing heart.

I walked around my half moon shaped desk and took my seat behind it.
