I grimaced at the way the bitter liquid burned my throat and heart.

I liked it.

I liked the feeling.

I wanted to be numb.

To Jason, to Ares.

Especially to Ares because I didn't understand myself and the way my heart palpitated whenever he was near.

He had two women in his arms who he would probably take back home after this, which annoyed me even more.

Even though I was always surrounded by men in the army, I never had a good relationship with alcohol but right now, I just wanted to let loose and not let my thoughts drown me because I felt I was going crazy.

For once, I didn't want to be the Andrea who always had to act prim and proper outside because she was a public figure. I smile as it really dawned on me that I was really someone else.

Someone nobody knew.

Closing my eyes, I threw my head back and downed the rest of the butter liquid down my throat.

“Woah, slow down, tiger,” the bartender chuckled but there was a hint of seriousness in his tone.

I hit the now empty glass hard on
