MATILDA'S POV

Seeing him giving such orders that I should be treated like a common slave made my heart churn, but it did not surprise me anymore as I was already aware of the kind of ruthless person he was. And here I was getting worried sick because I heard he was poisoned, but he did not mind treating me badly.

As I was dragged away by the guards, followed by the head maid, I kept turning back to look at the face of the man who had once treated me with so much love and respect.

I was dragged until we got to the kitchen.

"Here." The head maid said and I was pushed to the ground roughly by the guards. I gasped when my body hit the ground because my elbow slightly brushed the ground thereby causing a bruise.

"You should also ask me to get you a bed and a pillow so that you would be able to sleep more comfortably." The head maid suddenly said sarcastically with a smile on her face.

"Huh?" I asked, looking up at her with wide eyes.
