Logan's POV...

"If I do not get a good explanation for this, Simon, you are dead meat!" I hissed at Simon in a low voice since he asked me not to speak out loud.

In the middle of the night, at about 2 am, Simon had come into my chamber to wake me up. I asked what was wrong, but he only asked me to follow him. He had even ordered me not to put on footwear.

I finally followed him into the hallway. The only light that we could use to see was the light from the candle that had gone dim.

And I don't understand why we had to hide and pass through corners like thieves when we could easily just walk around. What was he searching for? Or who was coming that we had to hide for?

Why was Simon acting so different from his usual self? He wasn't talking to me; he was so focused on the mission, like it was a life-and death-situation.

With every question I asked, Simon didn't say anything but kept walking slowly and softly barefooted as well.
