Alexa's POV...
Even as I stood up and made Logan follow me, I could feel the overwhelming sense of fear envelop me. What would I do if he decided that the child was not his? What would I do if he felt angry that I did not inform him of such significant detail? What would happen to me if this led to the end of our relationship? These were some of the questions passing through my mind as I led him to where Alvin slept."What are you up to? You have a grandfather I don't know about too?" He asked, his voice teasing. I could only smile at him, although my heart banged like an old gong. I moved inside the room and then went to where the cot was. In there was Alvin, asleep, his eyelids beautifully closed, hiding his vibrant golden brown eyes.
"I want you to meet Alvin," I said, my voice cracking just above a whisper. Logan took careful steps towards me. His eyes betrayed his confusion; he clearly did not know what was going on.
I waited beside the cot pat
Logan's POV...Right from when I was very young, my father had taught me that crying was for the weak, the cowardly and the woman. But at that moment, with my own child in my arms, I felt like crying. I was sure that if I blinked, the tears would surely fall. The small man in my arms was almost a mirror image of me, but somehow, when he opened his eyes, I could see Alexa inside of him; it was like a small miracle, my miracle.Ironic that I came to find Alexa so we could be a family again, not knowing that I already had a family waiting for me. How could she ever think that I would reject her or our child? The moment she showed that baby to me, a million thoughts ran across my mind. Was the child mine? Was she now with someone else, had she moved on without me? Fear crippled me. Anger and raw rage ran through my veins. How could she? How could she betray me like that? But my mind told me that I was late, I had waited too long, and it would be entirely
Alexa's POV...That night felt like I died and woke up again. My nerves were all alert, my skin was super sensitive to every touch, Logan was exploring every inch of my skin, and no part was left untouched by his hands or lips. He took me to the ends of the earth, he made me die a thousand times over before the night was over, he kissed, he caressed, he fondled, he suckled, and he made sweet love to me, the kind that made my toe curl and set my body on fire. The sort of lovemaking that left you sore and completely drained the following morning. I was almost wishing that the night would not pass. For the first time in a long time, I was not looking forward to the sun shining; it was almost like the good memory would fade away once it was morning. It was like this was some illusion I had to hold on to strong enough if not, the rays of the sun would come and steal it away from me.I was weeping, sobbing quietly as he made love to me. It was surreal, like a mirage, like some out of the bo
Alexa's POV...True to his words, he was gone before I woke up. I went to the living room and met him there. Ginny was seated on the couch across from him, Alvin on her lap, towelling him with a wet fluffy sponge. Logan watched intently like he had never seen a baby being bathed before. It was a very adorable sight, and I smiled at it.Ginny seemed to be battling with whatever she had in her head. She was not very pleased with me because she avoided me for most of the morning after she fixed us all a plate of breakfast. As for Logan, she was almost outrightly mean to him. I could sense the tension between the two, and I knew I had to speak with her sooner rather than later.**********Logan was not joking when he said he was not leaving without me. He remained with us for the next two weeks, taking care of Alvin and sneaking into my bed at night to make love to me. Every night was blissful, and I did not wish for it to end. Most mornings, I woke to breakfast in bed, Logan would fix a
Logan's POV...I knew when the change began; it was the night I told her I had to return to my pack. It was not my choosing; Simon had mind linked to inform me that brows were beginning to be raised, my absence was being noticed, and I had to show up unless I wanted a new Alpha to challenge me. I believed nobody would dare do that, but it was unwise to be away from my pack for so long. I was a leader, and duty was calling to me. I hoped that Alexa could understand that. That morning, she slept, and I could not leave her side. I knew she was hurt and possibly bothered about what that meant for her and the child. But my mind was made up. I was leaving alright, but what she did not seem to understand was that I was neither leaving her behind nor was I willing to leave the child. The next day after that one-sided conversation, I could feel her withdrawal. She slept in for so long, and when she did emerge from the bedroom, she was not wearing the brightest look
Alexa's POV...The cot was rocking from where I lay. The blanket was draped across my stomach, my breasts were bare, my legs were already getting cold, but I was too weak to move a muscle or just throw the blanket over my whole self.Last night, Logan had done everything different with me. He was different with me; he was almost thankful, almost pleading with his touches, it was a new dimension, and it was slightly odd to feel that way like I was being worshipped, not just possessed and taken to all the realms of pleasure but taken care of. He did not care about himself; all his attention was on me. He gave me all and took none. I was not even aware of when I went to sleep with him hovering over me, kissing every inch of my face and whispering every good thing to my ears. It was an amazing night. There I was, lying all relaxed and sated and staring at the cot, which was moving, Alvin was certainly awake, but I could not have cared less. At least he was not
Logan's POV...When Alexa told me how futile her attempt at convincing Ginny was, I knew I had to give it a shot. I did not exactly know what her fears were, but from what Alexa had told me, she was scared of being left alone. Of course, she naturally felt like Alexa had betrayed her by wanting to leave her and follow me back to the red Lotus pack.I could not blame Alexa for telling her everything she had gone through in the pack. It was my fault that I could not protect her from all that hurt. I should have tried more to shield her.If my assumptions were correct and she had told Ginny of all her experience, it was no doubt that the old lady did not want her to leave and clearly said she was not in support of it.On the third day, after all efforts to talk to Ginny proved abortive, I decided it would be best to take her with us. That way, she could still be close to Alvin, with whom she had formed a bond and see for herself how much I would take goo
Alexa's POV...Life in the pack seemed a little different than what I could remember. The first day I arrived, I could see strange faces among the security at the entrance of the pack house.Selena was nowhere in sight; Simon welcomed us at the first gate and led us into the house. He also assisted in packing our things into our room. I was still clutching onto Alvin when Logan led me to the large mistress room in the house. The room was painted plain white, the walls decorated with several antique pieces of furniture, the floor was covered with a fluffy coffee-coloured rug, and every piece of furniture in the room was either some shade of brown or some shade of white or cream. The large king-size bed at the centre of the room was covered in a deep blue bed sheet, and the pillowcases were also a shade of blue with beautiful designs. There was a cot at the left corner of the room, and at the right corner, there was a small playing spot for A
Alexa's POV...Selena was one of the most skilled warriors I've ever known, she was not only good, but she was strong and willed. Every move she made seemed to flow with her body and her mind, her soul was part of it all, and I loved her for it.She was a strong woman, and I admired her a lot. Little wonder that our minds clicked, and we were best friends. Selena was one of my favourite persons in the world, and I treasured every moment I got with her. I had missed her greatly these past months. She knew how to lift my spirits and what to say to cheer me up, she was an amazing person, and I loved her for that."She'll come around," Simon said. He was seated just right beside me on the bench. He was sweating and holding a can of water, as he'd just gotten off his training with Logan. While Logan went to meet with the elders in council, Simon remained, watching the men and women in the field as they trained. Most mornings, the fitness room w
