He looked at me incredulously. This was the first time that I was able to elicit some type of reaction from him aside from anger and annoyance. I smiled at him widely and waved my hands in front of his face since he was still staring at me intently.

“Are you okay?” I asked, concern laced in my voice. 

He snapped from his thoughts and coughed lightly. “I’m fine.” He said.

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah, let’s just eat, and so we can go back earlier,” He said while opening the picnic basket that Liliana had prepared. I pouted because of his words. He looked at me and scoffed.

“Fine, what did she prepare for us?” I asked, excited.

My eyes widened when I saw an array of desserts. They were all my favorites! Cheesecake, ice cream, and donuts were placed in front of me, and I couldn’t help but look at them with hungry eyes. I reached out for a plate and put everything on my plate. I was indulging in the swee
