Sophia’s POV

I stay with him, sitting across from him on the sofa, watching him closely as he continues to sip on the water. The pain seems to be subsiding slightly, but I can still see the discomfort in his eyes.

“I’m sorry for making you go

Through all this trouble,” he says, breaking the silence, his voice still weak.

I shake my head gently. “Don’t apologize. I’m just glad I’m here to help. You should have called me earlier if you weren’t feeling well.”

He gives me a small smile. “My phone is dead, so I couldn’t call.”

“Thankfully, I woke up.” I sigh, breathing out in relief. I feel oddly relieved.

As he finishes the water, I set the glass aside and can’t help but ask, “What did you eat before going to bed?”

He pauses for a moment, as if considering whether to tell me or not, then sighs. “Just some leftovers from dinner. There was nothing wrong with the food; I just had a bad stomach sometimes.”
