YAZ'S POV

The next day, I paced back and forth in my room. It had been several hours since I sent the assassins after Kylian, and the silence was becoming unbearable. I needed answers. I needed confirmation that my plan had worked. They weren't taking their calls and it drove me insane.

What was taking them so long? I ordered kilograms of wolfsbane. That should be more than enough to do the job.

I stopped dead in my tracks. What if the plan didn't work? What if somehow Kylian survived? The thought of it all scared me but I remembered that nobody could survive that amount of wolfsbane, not even an Alpha.

I kept drinking to distract myself and calm my nerves down. As I moved to pour myself another drink, a knock on the door sounded.

"Enter," I said.

The door opened and three of the assassins stepped in. Their faces were unreadable. Their eyes were cold and devoid of emotion. My pulse quickened as I studied them, searching for any sign of success or failure. What could have happened
