Hunter-
The house was finally finished. I stood next to Caleb as we looked at the house and I felt a sense of pride. We finished a day sooner than I anticipated and I was looking forward to showing it to Kyra. Since she had been in heat for a couple of days this week, I had spent every moment I could at the new house.
It had been hell trying to keep away from her every time her scent filled the house when she went into another heat episode. The past two days she had been back in our room and I have enjoyed every minute of it.
“You think she will like it?” I asked Caleb.
“She will love it.”
Caleb and I had become closer over the past couple of days as well. We weren’t like we use to be yet, there were still moments that it was tense between us, but for the most part, I had my best friend back. I could see something was on his mind the past couple of days, but he didn’t seem to want to talk about it, so I didn&rsqu
Kyra-The house was beautiful. It had to be about three times the size of the current packhouse and everything looked like it had been designed with love. Not that I knew much about houses, but every inch of it looked amazing. I loved the wood throughout the house. It was dark and yet homey. The walls were a little bland, but Hunter had explained that every room can be repainted.I loved the idea of picking out a couple of paint colors. I loved to draw and paint and to have basically a clear canvas to paint something on a wall, was exciting. This house was almost in a whole different world than the old house. It didn’t have the story the old house held. This was like a new beginning.I wasn’t one for change, but I felt this was going to be a nice change. There was so much character to the old house and no matter how many people I asked, no one knew the entire story. The house had been around for hundreds of years. Now, this house can hold all new mem
Kyra-The days went by in a blur. The guys had spent a lot of time getting everything moved over and Rex and I had been doing some training with my powers. My arm no longer bothered me, and it had healed nicely. I had spent a few hours each day working on sketching. I had attempted to paint, but it hadn’t turned out as good as I hoped.I focused more on sketching than anything and had even filled up an entire sketch pad. I planned to practice more on my painting, but it was just frustrating me, so I decided to put it off until I had more time to focus on it.I was happy to see Hunter and Caleb getting along a lot better. I could see they were really making an effort. We had a few more strategy meetings but nothing really new to report. We were still waiting on my other brothers to arrive, and I was starting to get nervous.Rex and I hadn’t really hit it off right away and I was worried that they felt the same about me as Rex had at first. Yeah
Hunter-Just because I knew they were going to arrived, didn’t make it any less shocking or annoying when I have three men appear out of thin air. They didn’t even have the audacity to introduce themselves. Nope, one of them just said three words.“Where is she?”That was it. Granted I had known who they were talking about, but I was half tempted to push their buttons. What was it about Kyra’s family that annoyed me so much? Okay, well her mother didn’t but all the guys that I have met that were related to her, just rubbed me the wrong way.All three were standing side by side, looking menacing and bored at the same time. They all looked very different, but like they could be triplets also. The one in the middle had black hair and black eyes, at least his eyes looked black under the lighting of my office. The one to the left had sandy blonde hair and blue eyes. The other looked very similar to Kyra in the genetic
Kyra-I hadn’t been sure if I had wanted to be alone with any of them, but there was something about the way Zac was looking at me. It was like he knew something and whatever it was, he didn’t want anyone else to know it. I felt like the safest place would be the art room. Caleb had made sure it was soundproof so I could have my privacy. After I closed the door, Zac didn’t speak, he just walked around the room and looked around. I was sure he was buying time. Moving over to sit on the couch that Hunter had put in here last night, it had been the one from his old office. It had made the room more cozy and familiar.Zac continued to walk around the room and started flipping through the sketch pad that I had filled. I couldn’t see his face, as his back was turned towards me. The minutes seemed to drag by as the silence was starting to become uncomfortable. Should I say something or give him time to say what was on his mind?“The
Hunter-Snuggling up to Kyra, I could feel she was uneasy about something. Her mood has been all over the place since her brothers arrived. I was sure she was just worried about what was about to happen. Hell, we all were. I was trying to be strong and not let her see my own fears. She was already going through so much, I didn’t need to add on to it.The past two days, we have been busy trying to get all of the last-minute details taken care of. Her brothers had wanted to see what Kyra was capable of, so Kyra had spent most of the day in the new training gym I had built for her. As much as I had wanted to watch, I had other things I had to get done.We weren’t sure what time we were supposed to expect the Crescent Moon pack to arrive, so I had spent most of the day assigning everyone to the locations that would keep the pack safe. Zac had placed a blood-binding spell around the entire territory. It wouldn’t prevent anyone from entering, but it
Kyra-How could saying three words cause so much fear? It was like my throat closed up and I couldn’t get the words out. I knew how I felt about him. What if he didn’t feel the same? Was I supposed to say them? How does one even know when it was the right time to tell someone they loved them?I laid there, unable to speak, but knowing I had to say something. If I couldn’t tell him how I really felt, would I ever be able to? If I didn’t tell him now, would tomorrow be too late? Pulling my bottom lip between my teeth, I knew I had to just say it. It wasn’t that I wasn’t sure of how I felt, maybe I was just scared of how he would react.Taking a deep breath, I released my lip and decided that it was now or never. What was the worse that could happen anyways? Even if he didn’t tell me he felt the same, I was okay with it. I just wanted to tell him how I felt. It wasn’t like I needed anything in return.“I
Kyra-The digits on the clock on the bedside table changed and it was now five in the morning. After Hunter had fallen asleep, I had stayed awake watching the clock. Each minute that ticked by it felt like my chest was being weighed down. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t for the life of me fall asleep. As much as I knew Hunter didn’t like it, I slipped out of bed and put my pillow in his arms. He barely even stirred. If there was a way to keep him from the battle, I would, but I knew that wasn’t an option. Pulling one of Hunter’s shirts over my head, I headed to the door. Tiptoeing out of the room, I made my way to the gym upstairs. Where there was a shower and I had a couple of changes of clothes.Without wasting time, I took a quick shower and dried off. I looked at my reflection in the mirror and I knew I couldn’t face everyone like this. Their morale was already down and if I show up with doubt and concern written all over
Kyra-I left Rex standing in the foyer. I wasn’t really mad at what he did, more where he did it. Just because I wanted to create memories, doesn’t mean the first one needed to be of the blood that would probably stain the wood. Maybe I could have cleaned it up, but what I really needed to do was get out into the fresh crisp air to clear my head.I found Alec waiting on the bench at the field and I was debating on turning around and going for a walk. With him being an empath, I was pretty sure he would pick up on how I was feeling. I stopped walking and couldn’t seem to make up my mind what to do.“You might as well come to join me, I can already feel your emotions. They are practically screaming at me.” Alec said, looking up from his phone.“That bad?” I asked after making my way to sit on the bench next to him.“Yeah. You know, things may not happen the way you think they will. I may not know what i
