“Why is she not healing?” A female voice asks curiously.

“She’s a half breed.” Another woman answers. An almost familiar voice, but I couldn’t put my finger on where I knew it from.

Damn, everything hurts.

“I told you, you hit her too hard.” The familiar voice answers

“I had to, Alpha Zane was right there.” Mutters the first voice

They were both wolves, I could smell that even if my eyes wouldn’t open.

I feel a cool hand on my left leg, it lifts it briefly and something wet is wrapped around my leg from my knee to my ankle. My left arm is heavy too, like something is wrapped around it.

“I could kill you.” The familiar voice sighs, but it doesn’t seem like it’s aimed at me. I think the woman is trying to help me?

“I said I’m sorry, Cara. I panicked, I didn’t need Alpha Zane to kill me. I mean he dumped me for her.”

“Hush!” Cara replies. “You need to watch what you say and you were saving her anyway.”
