When I pull away, her caramel eyes hover on mine and her lips remain parted just a little. She seemed surprised by her own response more than what I had done.

Her wide eyes thin to slits. “It doesn’t hurt.” She wiggles her fingers and then her toes. “It doesn’t hurt anymore.” She mutters again and her eyes shift to me. “Because of what you said before? About being true mates?”

“Yes. But that doesn’t mean I want to test the theory.” I warm her. I didn't need her trying stupid shit just to see if she would heal.

She tips her face down, trying to hide the tiny smile that lingered on her lips.

“How did you find me? Cara was giving me something to stop you linking me.”

“Your scent.”

“You could still scent me?” She sounds surprised.

“Your scent is stronger since I claimed you, little wolf. I’ve been everywhere that you were taken too.”
