I was lost in the depths of my thoughts long before I realized the girl had left to her room without a word. Or maybe she did say goodnight but I simply didn't notice. My finger kept absentmindedly fiddling around with the bottle cap and I soon came to realize I was doing just what my dad use to do on so many faithful nights. Thing is, my dad might of been a hero to the eyes of many, but no one knew the real coward hiding behind that mask. In fact, it almost feels like I was the only one capable of seeing how much damage he's done. Yeah, he's made his redemption ark over the years, but I still held a grudge against him for ruining my childhood. The days I spent sobbing in my room...

I sighed, pressing my palms against my temples. The booze must be getting to me... I shooed the nasty thoughts away, well aware I'd loose it if I didn't think of something else. For the first time in a while, I let my mind wander on it's own, let it guide me towards something comforting.
