I said but I noticed the way Clarissa exhaled softly as anticipation began building in her body.

“Thank you, Sir. I will take your leave”

I said and turned around but his father called to me, “Wait a second. Since you are here, consider this as a formal invitation to attend the girl’s birthday party on the coming Saturday. Extend the invitation to your father and the rest of the pack as well.”

I bowed to him.

“I will, Alpha”

Dad put down the tome he had been reading and mused, “It has been long since I met your father. I’ve mostly traveled in the other regions for pack treaties. But, now that I recall, our treaty with the south seems to be nearing an expiry.”

Dacre held his hands together and replied, “I shall communicate that to father as well.”

“See you then”

Her father said and burrowed his head back in the file again.

This time, thankfully our conversation had been much better. Might be because Alpha Hayden was in a mood to celebrate his daughter’s birthday.
