I ran my fingers through Beat Silver's fur as I leaned my back against tye bars of my cell.

I don't know how long it had been since the beta dropped himself on my lap, but he's fallen asleep with his head still leaned on my right knee.

My legs were growing numb from sitting in the same position for way too long but I didn't dare move a muscle.

I was too scared that I would wake Beta Silver from his peaceful sleep, one that he needed.

The entire time I had Beta Silver sleeping on my right knee, Raphael was seated on the edge of my bed.

I glanced up at him and our eyes met. It was my intention to look away, but it was impossible to.

His blue eyes drew me in and refused to let go. For the first time since I came here, I looked at Raphael closely.

Bright blue eyes that looked like they could be brighter but life had forced them shine out of them, shark nose and jaw line, high cheekbones and dark hair that falls down to his forehead.

My eyes dropped to his lips and I quickly looked away.
